RH VILLA

This is a two-storey house with basement, on a plot with a large slope in the south-east part of the island of Rhodes.
The principles of the composition were based on the shape of the plot, the orientation, the landscape, the view and the bioclimatic design.
The house has direct contact with the ground.
Two oblong volumes on either side of one main axis, separate the bedroom and auxiliary spaces from the living room and the kitchen with the dining room on the ground floor.
A courtyard covered with a pergola has been created as an extension of the kitchen, with the help of wooden shades embedded in the walls without being seen. The use of sliding sliding frames, they unify the space with the outside, protect from the heat in the summer, help in heating in winter. In the center of the building was placed the living room, a meeting place of the family. The installation of a double-sided energy fireplace acts as a heating medium, but also as a divider between the kitchen and the living room.
In the basement there are parking spaces, the engine rooms of the pool and the building, a gym, a sauna, a bathroom and storage areas. All walls are made of reinforced concrete that selectively some surfaces have been colored white.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms, the master bedroom, dressing room, 2 bathrooms and the corridor that unifies the rooms.
It was chosen to place the master bedroom on the south side of the building and the children's rooms on the north side, each in separate volumes, connected to a glass corridor.
The roof of auxiliary ground floor areas made of reinforced concrete.Was planted, thus extending the natural soil. This planted space gives the image of a landscape of natural vegetation, letting the sunlight pass through the large glazing located at the point of the corridor.
Next to the courtyard, in the direction of the view, was placed the pool.
The exploitation of building placement, geothermal system, solar panels, insulation, energy frames, ceiling fans make up the bioclimatic residence.
The choice of materials is evident reinforced concrete board, wood in light shades, white lacquer, marble, raw metal, cement, granite, glass, with large triple windows that allow the entrance of natural lighting and the view to the pool, garden and the endless blue of the Aegean.
