BIANCO BOUTIQUE HOTEL
LEROS, GREECE | 2012

Our Company was commissioned to modernize and renovate a hotel unit located in Lakki, Leros. Lakki, Leros, has the distinctiveness of the other parts of the island to have a distinctive urban relict.

The unit was built in 1981 and has a capacity of 32 beds.
The owner requested the hotel to be shaped by emphasizing modern aesthetics and functionality. The 2728studio undertook the design of the new architectural design, decoration study, application studies and project execution.

For the needs of the project, it was necessary to reduce the capacity of the unit and re-order the rooms. The hotel consists of simple double rooms, triple rooms, two suites and a family room that can accommodate up to 5 people. The hotel has been thoroughly renovated throughout.
The aim of the owners was to emphasize luxury, to create spaces that resemble an island style but presented in a modern way.

Rooms and common areas were redesigned and 3 types were created to meet all customer requirements.

The main materials chosen are wood, stone, mosaic, natural materials, fabrics in earth tones, textiles and pressed cement mortar.

Only the structural elements, pillars and slabs were retained intact, and the outer walls and interior partitions were created from the outset. The basic feature of the hotel is white.

The choice was not accidental, since the design team's own goal was to create spaces that inspired tranquility and positive energy, giving the visitor the right to focus on  specific points that were deliberately emphasized.

On the 2 floors the rooms connected to the shared hall are being developed.

The ground floor is dominated by the white shades of communal areas, the use of wood combined with a white lacquer in the reception desk, the sloping white sofas in the lobby, the special wood-made building using the CNC in the breakfast area, the bar harmoniously combining a white lacquer with a gray, spatula-like cement plaster, and the minimal mood that exudes space. In the rooms, furniture, cabinets, interior doors, walls and ceilings are painted in white matte colors.

All furniture was designed by the 2728studio and was built by local manufacturers.
In the baths of the rooms were selected ceramic tiles, glass in the showers, the furniture-benches were lined with tufted marble tiles in a lustrous tint, and quilted sand was placed on the shower floors to give the feel of the sand of the beach.

Special emphasis has been placed on lighting in all rooms, which has been implemented with concealed lighting, spotlights at targeted points, linear leds on asymmetric lengths on common corridors. The facade of the building was redesigned, the balconies unified, creating a conceivable cantilever, giving the feeling of swinging.

At the entrance of the hotel were placed large energy frames in anthracite color, leaving natural light to enter the interior of communal spaces.

The face of the building with lanes of wood has been invested in the ground floor, creating color contrasts.
