ROCK HOTEL
MYKONOS, GREECE | 2020
The proposal of our office concerns the design of a new 5 * hotel in Mykonos.
The central axis of the design was based on the orientation of the buildings as the plot is amphitheatric with a large slope, surrounded by rocks and overlooking the Aegean Sea.
Required design was the creation of modern rooms by applying innovative techniques.
The simplicity of geometric volumes, the application of parametric design elements, the creation of white surfaces, and the use of modern materials are some of the elements applied by the design team at 2728studio.
The room is divided into three sections.
In the first one is developed the dressing room and the hall of the toilet, which with a special construction also functions as a divider between the bed and the sanitary facilities.
The furnishings of the room were based on choices from famous designers.
The idea of the dividing wall was based on the building of the traditional stone walls on the island of Mykonos and we tried to bring it into the room with a more modern version.
In the second part the bed is suspended and it is oriented towards the sea. On the right side of the bed we create an artificial masonry designed with special software and the feeling it gives is the carving of the stone.
The third part develops the alley section that functions as a place of calmness, well-being and relaxation.
